The Beginning of a Legacy

SPCDF has been established with the visionary objective of replicating the proven and celebrated Amul Co-operative Model on a national scale. Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. (GCMMF – Amul), the world-renowned dairy co-operative and India’s largest food brand, is the Chief Promoter of SPCDF. This heritage and institutional backing lend SPCDF unparalleled credibility, expertise, and direction.
Under the guidance of the Hon’ble Union Home and Co-operation Minister, Government of India, Sardar Patel Co-operative Dairy Federation Limited (SPCDF) has been duly registered under the Multi-State Co-operative Societies Act, 2002 (Registration No. MSCS/CR/1637/2025, dated 3rd July 2025).
SPCDF offers dairy farmers and Village Co-operative Societies (VCS) a unique opportunity to be part of a national movement that puts the farmer at the centre. Here are the compelling reasons to join:

1. Backed by the Proven Amul Model

SPCDF is built on the same three-tier co-operative structure that transformed India from a milk-deficient nation to the world’s largest milk producer. By joining SPCDF, members become part of a system that has already proven its ability to uplift millions of dairy farmers across India over seven decades.

2. Direct Benefit to Local Dairy Farmers

Village Co-operative Societies (VCS) registered under the respective State Co-operative Societies Acts form the primary membership of SPCDF. These VCS function exclusively at the village level, ensuring that the benefits reach farmers directly at the grassroots, without intermediaries. Farmers in states such as West Bengal will have local co-operatives that are directly connected to a national federation.

3. Assured Milk Procurement & Fair Prices

Members benefit from a structured and reliable milk procurement system through their Village Co-operative Societies. SPCDF’s key commitments to its members include:
  • Undertaking and promoting milk procurement through village co-operative societies, ensuring no farmer is left without a buyer for their produce.
  • Providing a price difference – farmers receive competitive, fair prices based on the quality and quantity of milk supplied, directly improving household income.
  • Undertaking all activities necessary for the production and procurement of clean and quality milk, thereby increasing returns for farmers.

4. Comprehensive Input Services

Membership gives farmers access to a wide range of input services through their VCS, including:
  • Veterinary care and animal health services.
  • Quality cattle feed and nutritional supplements to increase milk productivity.
  • Access to breeding services and other support to improve the quality and productivity of dairy animals.

5. Training, Capacity Building & Technical Guidance

SPCDF is committed to empowering its members through knowledge and skill development:
  • Dedicated training and capacity-building programmes designed for milk producers, dairy managers, and co-operative leaders.
  • Technical guidance on best practices in dairy farming, hygiene standards, milk quality, and herd management – resulting in increased milk production and productivity.
  • Support to strengthen the co-operative structure itself, enabling VCS to operate more efficiently and transparently.

6. National Representation & Voice

One of the most significant advantages of membership is representation. Member VCS gain a democratic voice and representation in SPCDF at the national level. This means that the concerns, needs, and aspirations of local dairy farmers in every state are represented in the governance of a national co-operative federation – ensuring policies and decisions reflect the ground reality.
